National Average Gas Prices Rocket Toward $4 Per Gallon

A year ago, the national average for a gallon of regular gasoline cost $ 2,895 a driver. This represents an increase of $ 3,952 to $ 3,943 on Monday and Sunday. Gas prices continued their series of 45 days from today, May 3, when the national average price for a gallon of regular gasoline reached $ 3,967, according to AAA. Wyoming has the lowest price per gallon to $ 3,614.

Gasoline prices could top $ 3 a gallon this spring, according to the federal perspective. Federal officials predict demand of oil per day, increasing by 1% this year, while natural gas demand should increase in percent, almost half. In the U.S., oil consumption fell by 820,000 barrels per day (4%) last year.
